Phosphonates are used worldwide in a broad spectrum of industries, mainly water treatment, detergency, construction and oil drilling applications.
Ever since phosphonates were developed in the 1960s, they have contributed to a very significant reduction in the use of chemicals, by replacing high quantities of acids, polyphosphates and amino carboxylic chelants, thereby reducing the environmental impact of many industrial processes.
